WCT 5513 homage
my West Coast time WCT-5513 on a zulu. I have to say this is very comfortable.
This watch was made in conjunction with the respected Albert Wajs of Switzerland of Ollech and Wajs who have manufactured durable and collectible military watches for over 40 years.
It is refitted with a domed genuine sapphire CUSTOM ground crystal made for this watch - convex under NOT flat like a cheap crystal. It has a firm uni-directional ratcheting bezel.(not inexpensive friction which slips. I think it is a little too firm and will try fix that in the future)
This watch has as its power plant a new ETA 2824-2 automatic self-winding movement which is shockproof and all Swiss made.

U.S. and Russian satellites collide | Cutting Edge - CNET News: "In an unprecedented space collision, a commercial Iridium communications satellite and a defunct Russian satellite ran into each other Tuesday above northern Siberia, creating a cloud of wreckage, officials said today. The international space station does not appear to be threatened by the debris, they said, but it's not yet clear whether it poses a risk to any other military or civilian satellites."

Historic second Vendee Globe in 84 days
News : Historic second Vendee Globe victory for Desjoyeaux - Vendée Globe: "Sailing more than 28,303 miles, averaging around 13.2 knots, French solo skipper Michel Desjoyeaux has shattered the Vendée Globe race record today by 3 days 7 hours and 39 seconds on his way to becoming the first skipper ever to win the solo non stop around the world race twice. The course is effectively 1150 miles longer than in 2004.
German Letterbox gets a hit
Many years ago, 2003 I think, I planted a letterbox at Waldeck in Ingelheim, Germany.
Last week I received an email confirmation that the box was found last weekend. I had forgotten all about it...
