Just called Canon. I have an SD550 with a bum lens motor. Was told I could be offered the SX100, SX10IS, or SD890 but only if I talked to a tech rep first. Was transferred to the tech rep who requested I send my camera in for some kind of evaluation. No talk of my serial number or anything and it seemed that they wanted to check out the camera more than offer any kind of upgrade.
